    In 3rd technique you need to have more distance between your hands for better grapple and stronger leverage. Also, you don't need to use your led behind opponent's leg except if it's close to you. Big steps must be avoided. But nice try.

    • @FiveDeadlyVenoms
      @FiveDeadlyVenoms 2 місяці тому

      Thanks for watching and commenting. There are obviously different ways of doing. The distance between your hands isn’t particularly important, as long as you’re controlling the leg. Regarding the blocking of the foot, that’s how I was taught and how Cung Le does it in the clips as well. Good enough for Cung, good enough for me. Nice try, though.

    • @Subastolis
      @Subastolis 2 місяці тому

      The distance between hands is always important in grapples. Le or Shalikov were on a different level than your target audience. In the technique that Le will keep his balance a lower level athlete can fall. The same technique is done much faster and without putting your foot behind the opponent, but if you do you should have a better footing than what you are showing. I am writing to you as a professional trainer with world honors.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. I disagree. I think it is one of the things that separate classic Dutch style kickboxing and modern Muay Thai, the turning the hip over on the low kick. And I believe you can do it both ways.

    The best self-defense is a solid jab anything else and you’re taking a hell of a risk. If you can’t throw a solid jab especially in a street fight you were in trouble. You don’t wanna be trying to wrestle and grapple on Concrete that can end in tragedy. You don’t wanna try to throw some fancy kick that put you off balance on Concrete that will end in tragedy, but if you can throw a solid jaband pop somebody on the chin they can be four times your size and you can drop them like a sack of potatoes all of this martial arts junk good luck😂

    I love your videos, they are always direct, to the point, and informative, keep up the great work! But if I may add, the reason the second throw/sweep in this video proved a little challenging is due to not pulling the leg in a downward circular motion to the outside, to begin the throw. If one does that, it breaks the kicker's balance and posture more easily, and then the throw can be finished by lifting the leg high over head on the other side, dumping the kicker on their backside. In Tai Chi its often called 'Present Flowers,' and in American Wrestling I believe its called the 'golf swing.' In the clip included, Mr. Salikov adjusts his stance by squaring up to accommodate this lateral, circular, downward pull.
